Luca keem 작가는 이탈리아 밀라노 국립 미술원 회화과 졸업 후 현재 서울과 밀라노를 기반으로 활동하고 있습니다.
작가의 작업은 무의식적이고 잠재적인 본래의 나를 발견하는 재인식의 과정으로서 기억의 덩어리를 색을 통해 이미지화합니다.
타인에서 벗어나 자아를 찾는 노력과 성찰을 담은 작업입니다.

[작품노트]
인간은 혼자서는 살아갈 수 없다.
우리는 필연적으로 다른 존재인 타자(주변의 모든 대상)와 관계를 갖고 살아가고 있으며 언제나 어떤 맥락이나 상황에 놓여 있다. 또한 타자에 의해 우리도 모르게 그들의 지배를 받으면서도 그들로부터 완전히 벗어나기는 어렵다. 이러한 관계는 나를 평균적이고 보편적인 존재로 살아가게 하며 존재로서의 의미를 가리기도 한다. 그렇다면 나라는 존재가 그들에게서 완전히 벗어날 수는 없을까? 타자인 그들의 영향력이 제한되고 가장 본래적인 나 자신이 드러나는 순간은 없을까? 우리는 이른바 가능 존재로서 현재 완결적으로 닫힌 존재가 아니며 끊임없이 나 자신을 넘어서서 밖으로 나아가기 위한 가능성을 찾아내고 실현시키며 존재한다. 이러한 가능성은 ‘시간의 지속성’ 안에서 존재하며 흘러가고 어딘가로 향한다. 본인은 이 가능성을 찾기 위하여 우리 자신을 깊이 바라보아야 하며 자기성찰을 통해 거듭날 수 있다고 믿는다. 시간의 지속성 안에서 일어난 모든 순간들은 ‘기억’이라는 것으로 자리 잡아 나를 바라봄에 있어 가장 중요한 척도가 된다. 현재의 매순간은 과거의 선험적인 것의 덩어리이고 역사이다. 그러므로 우리는 역사적인 존재이며 동시에 미래를 잠식한다. 기억은 다양한 존재자와 관계하여 있는 생명작용이고 인식에만 머무는 것이 아니라 우주의 모든 생명체의 운동과 연결되어 있다. 기억은 시간의 지속성 안에 생명력을 가지고 약동하며 변화한다. 또한 차이를 만들어 진화하고 상호침투하는 세계이다. 이것은 우리가 살아가는 우주이며 살아있는 유기체로 계속해서 변화해가는 열린 전체이다. 이러한 기억의 덩어리를 본인의 작품 안에 색이라는 이미지로 인출해낸다. 색은 기억과 마찬가지로 서로 변화하고 상호침투하며 복수성을 가지고 있다. 본인의 작품은 단지 회상하고 표상 이미지를 재현으로 끝나는 것이 아니라 무의식적이고 잠재적인 본래의 나를 발견하는 재인식의 실체인 것이다. 그리하여 자아에 두껍게 드리워진 베일을 거둬내어 존재로서의 의미를 드러내길 바라는 끊임없는 지속의 작업인 것이다.
Human kind is not designed to live solely.
It is inevitable for us to be in a constant interaction with other entities and surroundings, and we are always involved within certain contexts or situations. Our very selves are influenced, dominated yet cannot completely disengage from l'Autre. Such relationships make The Self to exist as an average and universal being, at times obscuring the meaning of my existence. If that is the case, can myself as an entity be completely unengaged and separated from the Others? Is there a moment for my primal Self to emerge and unshadow from their influence? We constantly pursue possibilities and discover paths to go further beyond ourselves, and we actualize these potentials while existing; we exist as so-called Beings of Possibilities, as we are not confined, definite, closed in the present. These possibilities flow and head somewhere while existing within the 'continuity of time'. I believe that we must deeply observe ourselves in order to seek these possibilities, and that we can reborn through self-reflection. All the moments that occur within the continuity of time collectively become to form 'memories'- the most crucial measure in observing myself. Each present moment is history, a mass of transcendental past. Therefore, our existence is historical, yet at the very same time we also influence and affect the future. Memory is a vital function connected with various beings, not only confined to perception; it is linked with the motion of all life forms in the Universe. Memory changes, varies and pulsates with vitality within the continuity of time; it is a World where the differences evolve and interpenetrate. The Memory itself is a universe where we live, a living organism, a constantly evolving entity without limit. I extract these clusters of Memory into my artwork, represent them in the form of color. As the memory does, the color embodies multiplicity, mutates and alters reciprocally. My artwork consists in discovering the subconscious, latent primal self; it is a tangible reality of re-perceiving myself ‒ it is far more than merely recalling the past and reproducing it. It is a constant journey of removing the thick layers of influence draped on the Self, in the hope of revealing the meaning of its existence.
